He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Ahjar al-Zayt praying for rain, with his palms turned upward as he made supplication.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا الليث عن خالد بن يزيد عن سعيد بن أبي هلال عن يزيد بن عبد الله عن عمير مولى آبي اللحم
أنه رأى رسول الله ﷺ عند أحجار الزيت يستسقي وهو مقنع بكفيه يدعو
Sahih. Tirmidhi collected it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on what has been mentioned regarding the prayer for rain, no. 557, from Qutayba, with this chain, and it is also in al-Kubra, no. 1820. Hakim graded it sahih (1/535), and Dhahabi agreed. It has corroborating narrations in Abu Dawud, no. 1168, 1172, and Ibn Hibban, no. 601, 602, and others.Yazid here is Yazid bin Abdullah bin Hadi.
