The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not raise his hands in any supplication except in the prayer for rain, in which he would raise his hands so high that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Rain Prayers, the chapter on the imam raising his hands during the rain prayer, hadith no. 1031, and Muslim in the Book of the Rain Prayer, the chapter on raising the hands in supplication during the rain prayer, hadith no. 7/896, from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, through the same route. It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 1817.
