The Prophet ﷺ said, "Trim the moustaches and let the beards grow."
أخبرنا عبيد الله بن سعيد قال حدثنا يحيى هو ابن سعيد عن عبيد الله أخبرني نافع
عن النبي ﷺ قال أحفوا الشوارب وأعفوا اللحى
Agreed upon by Bukhari, Book of Clothing, Chapter on Letting the Beard Grow, hadith (5893), from the hadith of Ubaydullah bin Umar, with this wording, and Muslim, Book of Purification, Chapter on the Characteristics of fitrah, hadith (259), from the hadith of Yahya Qattan, and it is in Kubra, hadith (13).
