I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There is no man who performs ablution and does it well, then prays a prayer, except that he is forgiven for whatever occurs between it and the next prayer, until he prays it."
أخبرنا قتيبة عن مالك عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه عن حمران مولى عثمان أن
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول ما من امرئ يتوضأ فيحسن وضوءه ثم يصلي الصلاة إلا غفر له ما بينه وبين الصلاة الأخرى حتى يصليها
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Wudu, Chapter on Performing Wudu Three Times Each, no. 160, and Muslim in the Book of Purification, Chapter on the Merit of Wudu and the Prayer Following It, no. 227, from the hadith of Urwa through this same chain. It is also found in Muwatta (Yahya): 1/30, and in Kubra, no. 174.
