The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the Friday prayer Surah al-Ala, "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High," and Surah al-Ghashiyah, "Has the news of the Overwhelming reached you?" Sometimes the Eid and Friday prayers fell on the same day, and he would recite these two surahs in both prayers.
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد الأعلى قال حدثنا خالد عن شعبة أن إبراهيم بن محمد بن المنتشر أخبره قال سمعت أبي يحدث عن حبيب بن سالم
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرأ في الجمعة بسبح اسم ربك الأعلى و هل أتاك حديث الغاشية وربما اجتمع العيد والجمعة فيقرأ بهما فيهما جميعا
Muslim recorded it, no. 62/878, from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Muntashir (see the previous hadith, and it is in Kubra, no. 1740).
