The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would remember Allah abundantly, speak little of what was idle, lengthen his prayer, and shorten his sermon. He did not consider it beneath him to walk alongside a widow or a poor person to take care of their need.
أخبرنا محمد بن عبد العزيز بن غزوان قال أنبأنا الفضل بن موسى عن الحسين بن واقد قال حدثني يحيى بن عقيل قال سمعت
كان رسول الله ﷺ يكثر الذكر ويقل اللغو ويطيل الصلاة ويقصر الخطبة ولا يأنف أن يمشي مع الأرملة والمسكين فيقضي له الحاجة
[Its isnad is hasan] Darimi recorded it: 1/35, no. 75, from the hadith of Fadl bin Musa with the same chain. It is also in Kubra, no. 1716. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 2139, 2130, and Hakim graded it as meeting the standard of the two Shaykhs, 2/614, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has corroborating narrations.
