The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever abandons the Friday prayer without a valid excuse should give a Dinar in charity, and if he cannot find one, then half a Dinar."
أخبرنا أحمد بن سليمان قال حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال حدثنا همام عن قتادة عن قدامة بن وبرة
قال رسول الله ﷺ من ترك الجمعة من غير عذر فليتصدق بدينار فإن لم يجد فبنصف دينار
[Its chain is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on the expiation for missing it, hadith no. 1053, through the hadith of Yazid bin Harun, with this wording. It is also found in his Kubra, hadith no. 1661. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith no. 1861, as did Ibn Hibban, hadith no. 582, and Hakim, 1/180, and Dhahabi agreed with them.Qatada used ambiguous transmission (an'ana), as mentioned before, hadith no. 34, and there is doubt about Qudama's actually hearing from Samura.
