Abu Haya reported,

I saw Ali perform ablution three times for each part, then he stood and drank what remained of his ablution water and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did just as I have done."

أخبرنا أبو داود سليمان بن سيف قال حدثنا أبو عتاب قال حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحق

رأيت عليا رضي الله عنه توضأ ثلاثا ثلاثا ثم قام فشرب فضل وضوئه وقال صنع رسول الله ﷺ كما صنعت
