Sufyan reported,
Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution, he would take a handful of water and do like this with it, and Shuba demonstrated how he sprinkled it on his private area. I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and it pleased him.The Shaykh Ibn al-Sunni said, Hakam is the son of Sufyan al-Thaqafi

Hasanأخبرنا إسمعيل بن مسعود قال حدثنا خالد بن الحارث عن شعبة عن منصور
عن مجاهد عن الحكم عن أبيه
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا توضأ أخذ حفنة من ماء فقال بها هكذا ووصف شعبة نضح به فرجه فذكرته لإبراهيم فأعجبه قال الشيخ ابن السني الحكم هو ابن سفيان الثقفي رضي الله عنه

[hasan] Reported by Abu Dawud, Chapter on Purification, section on sprinkling water (al-intidah), no. 166, from the hadith of Mansur, through him, and it is also in Kubra, no. 135. Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of the two sheikhs, 1/171, and Dhahabi agreed with him. See Nayl al-Maqsud for further verification, if you wish.
