Itban bin Malik reported,

I used to lead my people, the tribe of Banu Salim, in prayer. I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "My eyesight has weakened, and the floodwaters block the path between me and my people's mosque. I would love for you to come and pray in my house at a spot I could take as a place of prayer."The Prophet ﷺ said, "I will do so, Allah willing."The next morning, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me with Abu Bakr after the day had grown hot. The Prophet ﷺ asked permission to enter, and I granted it. He did not sit down until he asked, "Where in your house would you like me to pray?"I pointed out to him the spot where I wished him to pray. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, and we lined up in rows behind him. Then he gave the closing salam, and we gave the salam when he did.

أخبرنا سويد بن نصر قال أنبأنا عبد الله بن المبارك عن معمر عن الزهري أخبره قال أخبرني محمود بن الربيع قال سمعت

عتبان بن مالك يقول

كنت أصلي بقومي بني سالم فأتيت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت إني قد أنكرت بصري وإن السيول تحول بيني وبين مسجد قومي فلوددت أنك جئت فصليت في بيتي مكانا أتخذه مسجدا قال النبي ﷺ سأفعل إن شاء الله فغدا علي رسول الله ﷺ وأبو بكر رضي الله عنه معه بعد ما اشتد النهار فاستأذن النبي ﷺ فأذنت له فلم يجلس حتى قال أين تحب أن أصلي من بيتك فأشرت له إلى المكان الذي أحب أن يصلي فيه فقام رسول الله ﷺ وصففنا خلفه ثم سلم وسلمنا حين سلم
