I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when he said, "Stay behind, Mughirah, and the rest of you, go on ahead." So I stayed behind, carrying a water vessel with me, while the people went on. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then went to relieve himself.When he returned, I began pouring water for him. He was wearing a Roman cloak with narrow sleeves. He tried to bring his hand out through the sleeve, but it was too tight, so he drew his hand out from beneath the cloak instead. He washed his face and hands, wiped his head, and wiped over his leather socks.
أخبرنا محمد بن منصور قال حدثنا سفيان قال سمعت إسمعيل بن محمد بن سعد قال سمعت
كنت مع النبي ﷺ في سفر فقال تخلف يا مغيرة وامضوا أيها الناس فتخلفت ومعي إداوة من ماء ومضى الناس فذهب رسول الله ﷺ لحاجته فلما رجع ذهبت أصب عليه وعليه جبة رومية ضيقة الكمين فأراد أن يخرج يده منها فضاقت عليه فأخرج يده من تحت الجبة فغسل وجهه ويديه ومسح برأسه ومسح على خفيه
