I held a position with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that no one else among creation had. I would come to him every dawn and say, "Peace be upon you, Prophet of Allah." If he cleared his throat, I would return to my family. Otherwise, I would enter upon him.
أخبرنا القاسم بن زكريا بن دينار قال حدثنا أبو أسامة قال حدثني شرحبيل يعني ابن مدرك قال حدثني عبد الله بن نجي عن أبيه قال
كانت لي منزلة من رسول الله ﷺ لم تكن لأحد من الخلائق فكنت آتيه كل سحر فأقول السلام عليك يا نبي الله فإن تنحنح انصرفت إلى أهلي وإلا دخلت عليه
[Its isnad is hasan] Ahmad narrated it, 1/85, from the hadith of Shurahbil through him, and it is in Kubra, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, hadith 902. Abdullah bin Naji is hasan al-hadith, and the majority deemed him reliable, as did his father. Refer to Nayl Maqsud, hadith 227.
