I had two times of entry to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, one at night and one during the day. Whenever I came in at night, he would clear his throat to signal me.
أخبرني محمد بن عبيد قال حدثنا ابن عياش عن مغيرة عن الحارث العكلي عن ابن نجي قال
ي كان لي من رسول الله ﷺ مدخلان مدخل بالليل ومدخل بالنهار فكنت إذا دخلت بالليل تنحنح لي
Sahih. Ibn Majah narrated it in the Book of Manners, chapter on seeking permission to enter, no. 3708, from the hadith of Abu Bakr bin Ayyash, transmitted through him, and Jareer corroborated him as in the previous hadith. It is also found in al-Kubra, no. 1136. See also the following hadith.
