There are two matters about which I will never need to ask anyone after what I witnessed from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.We were with him on a journey, and he went off to relieve himself. Then he came back and performed ablution, wiping over his forelock, the two sides of his turban, and over his leather socks. As for the imam praying behind one of his subjects, I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when the time for prayer arrived and the Prophet ﷺ was delayed in reaching them. So they began the prayer and put Ibn Awf forward to lead them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived and prayed behind Ibn Awf for what remained of the prayer. When Ibn Awf gave the closing salam, the Prophet ﷺ stood and made up the portion he had missed.
