Imran bin Husayn and I prayed behind Ali bin Abu Talib. Whenever he prostrated, he said the takbir, and whenever he raised his head from prostration, he said the takbir, and whenever he rose from the two rakahs, he said the takbir. When he had finished, Imran took my hand and said, "This man has just reminded me," meaning the prayer of Muhammad ﷺ.
أخبرنا يحيى بن حبيب بن عربي قال حدثنا حماد عن غيلان بن جرير
صليت أنا وعمران بن حصين خلف علي بن أبي طالب فكان إذا سجد كبر وإذا رفع رأسه من السجود كبر وإذا نهض من الركعتين كبر فلما قضى أخذ عمران بيدي فقال لقد ذكرني هذا قال كلمة يعني صلاة محمد ﷺ
Bukhari transmitted it in Adhan, chapter on completing the takbir during sujud, no. 786, and Muslim in... , no. 393, both from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd through this route. It also appears in Kubra, chapter on affirming the takbir with every lowering and rising in prayer, no. 669.
