He asked Umm Salama about the recitation and prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.She replied, "What concern is his prayer to you?"Then she described his recitation, and her description showed it to be a clear recitation, distinguishing each letter one by one.
أخبرنا قتيبة قال حدثنا الليث بن سعد عن عبد الله بن عبيد الله بن أبي مليكة
أنه سأل أم سلمة عن قراءة رسول الله ﷺ وصلاته قالت ما لكم وصلاته ثم نعتت قراءته فإذا هي تنعت قراءة مفسرة حرفا حرفا
Its chain of transmission is hasan. Tirmidhi narrated it in "The Virtues of the Quran," the chapter on what has been said about how the Prophet used to recite, hadith no. 2923, from Qutayba with this wording, and he said, "Hasan sahih gharib." It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 1095.Yaala bin Mamlak's hadith is hasan. Ibn Hibban rated him trustworthy, and so did Tirmidhi, as mentioned in Nayl al-Maqsud, hadith no. 1466.
