I was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the Conquest. He prayed facing the Kaabah, removing his sandals and placing them to his left. He began the prayer with Surah al-Muminun, and when he reached the mention of Musa, or Isa, peace be upon them, a fit of coughing seized him, so he bowed.
أخبرنا محمد بن علي قال حدثنا خالد قال حدثنا ابن جريج قال أخبرني محمد بن عباد حديثا رفعه إلى ابن سفيان
حضرت رسول الله ﷺ يوم الفتح فصلى في قبل الكعبة فخلع نعليه فوضعهما عن يساره فافتتح بسورة المؤمنين فلما جاء ذكر موسى أو عيسى عليهما السلام أخذته سعلة فركع
Muslim recorded it, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on recitation in the dawn prayer, hadith no. 455, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj through this route, and it is also in Kubra, hadith no. 1079. Bukhari mentioned it as a suspended chain, in the Book of Adhan, chapter on combining two surahs in one rakat, and so on, hadith no. 774.
