Mughira bin Shuba reported that he went on the expedition to Tabuk with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Mughira said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to relieve himself before the dawn prayer, and I carried a water vessel with him. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned to me, I began pouring water from the vessel over his hands, and he washed his hands three times. Then he washed his face. Then he tried to pull his cloak off his arms, but its sleeves were too narrow, so he slipped his arms inside the cloak and drew them out from beneath it, then washed his arms up to the elbows. Then he wiped over his leather socks and proceeded forward."Mughira said, "I went along with him until we found that the people had put Abdul-Rahman bin Awf forward to lead them in prayer, and he was already leading them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught one of the two rakats and prayed the final rakat with the people. When Abdul-Rahman bin Awf gave the closing salam, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to complete his prayer. This alarmed the Muslims, and they began saying 'Subhan Allah' repeatedly. When the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer, he turned to them and said, 'You have done well,' or he said, 'You have done the right thing,' expressing admiration that they had prayed the prayer at its proper time."
حدثني محمد بن رافع وحسن بن علي الحلواني جميعا عن عبد الرزاق قال ابن رافع حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا ابن جريج حدثني ابن شهاب عن حديث عباد بن زياد أن عروة بن
أخبره أن المغيرة بن شعبة أخبره أنه غزا مع رسول الله ﷺ تبوك قال المغيرة فتبرز رسول الله ﷺ قبل الغائط فحملت معه إداوة قبل صلاة الفجر فلما رجع رسول الله ﷺ إلي أخذت أهريق على يديه من الإداوة وغسل يديه ثلاث مرات ثم غسل وجهه ثم ذهب يخرج جبته عن ذراعيه فضاق كما جبته فأدخل يديه في الجبة حتى أخرج ذراعيه من أسفل الجبة وغسل ذراعيه إلى المرفقين ثم توضأ على خفيه ثم أقبل قال المغيرة فأقبلت معه حتى نجد الناس قد قدموا عبد الرحمن بن عوف فصلى لهم فأدرك رسول الله ﷺ إحدى الركعتين فصلى مع الناس الركعة الآخرة فلما سلم عبد الرحمن بن عوف قام رسول الله ﷺ يتم صلاته فأفزع ذلك المسلمين فأكثروا التسبيح فلما قضى النبي ﷺ صلاته أقبل عليهم ثم قال أحسنتم أو قال قد أصبتم يغبطهم أن صلوا الصلاة لوقتها
