Umm Habiba bint Jahsh sought a ruling from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying, "I experience prolonged bleeding."He replied, "That is only from a vein, so perform a full bath and then pray."So she would perform a full bath before every prayer.Layth bin Saad said, "Ibn Shihab did not mention that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded Umm Habiba bint Jahsh to perform a full bath before every prayer. Rather, it was something she did on her own."Ibn Rumh in his narration said "the daughter of Jahsh" and did not mention Umm Habiba.
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ليث ح و حدثنا محمد بن رمح أخبرنا الليث عن ابن شهاب عن عروة
استفتت أم حبيبة بنت جحش رسول الله ﷺ فقالت إني أستحاض فقال إنما ذلك عرق فاغتسلي ثم صلي فكانت تغتسل عند كل صلاة قال الليث بن سعد لم يذكر ابن شهاب أن رسول الله ﷺ أمر أم حبيبة بنت جحش أن تغتسل عند كل صلاة ولكنه شيء فعلته هي و قال ابن رمح في روايته ابنة جحش ولم يذكر أم حبيبة
