Asma asked the Prophet ﷺ about the bath after menstruation.He said, "Each of you should take her water and her lote leaves and purify herself, doing it well. Then she should pour water over her head and rub it vigorously until it reaches the roots of her hair. Then she should pour the water over herself. Then she should take a piece of cloth scented with musk and purify herself with it."Asma asked, "How does she purify herself with it?"He said, "Glory be to Allah! You purify yourself with it."Ayesha, as though speaking discreetly of the matter, said, "You follow the traces of the blood."Asma also asked him about the bath after janaba.He said, "She should take water and purify herself, doing it well, until the purification is complete. Then she should pour water over her head and rub it until it reaches the roots of her hair. Then she should pour the water over herself."Ayesha said, "What excellent women the women of the Ansar were. Shyness never kept them from seeking understanding of the religion."And he said in another wording, "Glory be to Allah! Purify yourself with it," and he covered his face.
