A woman asked the Prophet ﷺ how she should perform the ritual bath after her menstruation. He mentioned that the Prophet taught her how to bathe, then to take a piece of musk and purify herself with it.She asked, "How shall I purify myself with it?"He replied, "Purify yourself with it. Glory be to Allah!" And he covered his face. Sufyan bin Uyayna gestured to us with his hand over his own face to demonstrate.Ayesha said, "I drew her toward me, for I understood what the Prophet ﷺ meant, and I told her, 'Follow the traces of blood with it.'"In the narration of Ibn Abu Umar, the wording is, "I told her, 'Follow the traces of blood with it.'"
حدثنا عمرو بن محمد الناقد وابن أبي عمر جميعا عن ابن عيينة قال عمرو حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن منصور بن صفية عن أمه
سألت امرأة النبي ﷺ كيف تغتسل من حيضتها قال فذكرت أنه علمها كيف تغتسل ثم تأخذ فرصة من مسك فتطهر بها قالت كيف أتطهر بها قال تطهري بها سبحان الله واستتر وأشار لنا سفيان بن عيينة بيده على وجهه قال قالت عائشة واجتذبتها إلي وعرفت ما أراد النبي ﷺ فقلت تتبعي بها أثر الدم وقال ابن أبي عمر في روايته فقلت تتبعي بها آثار الدم
