The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke of the Dajjal one morning. He lowered his voice about him and then raised it, until we thought he was there among the palm trees. When we came to him later in the day he saw this in our faces and asked, "What is the matter with you?"We said, "Messenger of Allah, this morning you spoke of the Dajjal, lowering your voice and then raising it, until we thought he was there among the palm trees."He said, "There is something I fear for you more than the Dajjal. If he comes out while I am among you, I will contend with him on your behalf. But if he comes out when I am no longer among you, then each man must contend for himself, and Allah will be my deputy over every Muslim. He is a young man with tightly curled hair and a defective eye. I would liken him to Abdul-Uzza bin Qatan. Whoever among you meets him should recite over him the opening verses of Surah Kahf. He will come out by way of a road between Syria and Iraq, and he will spread ruin to the right and ruin to the left. Servants of Allah, hold firm."We asked, "Messenger of Allah, how long will he remain on the earth?"He said, "Forty days. One day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of his days like your ordinary days."We asked, "Messenger of Allah, on that day which is like a year, will one day's prayers be enough for us?"He said, "No. Measure out its proper times."We asked, "Messenger of Allah, how swiftly will he move through the earth?"He said, "Like rain driven along by the wind. He will come to a people and call them, and they will believe in him and answer him. Then he will command the sky and it will rain, and the earth and it will bring forth crops, and their grazing herds will come home to them in the evening with humps never fuller, udders never heavier with milk, and flanks never more swollen. Then he will come to another people and call them, and they will reject what he says, so he will turn away from them, and they will wake up in drought with nothing left of their wealth in their hands. He will pass by a ruin and say to it, 'Bring out your treasures,' and its treasures will follow him like swarming bees."Then he will summon a man in the fullness of his youth and strike him with a sword, cutting him into two pieces as far apart as an archer's mark. Then he will call him, and the man will come forward with his face beaming and laughing."While he is doing all this, Allah will send the Messiah, son of Maryam. He will descend by the white minaret east of Damascus, wearing two lightly dyed garments, his palms resting on the wings of two angels. When he lowers his head, water drips from it, and when he raises it, drops like pearls run down from it. No disbeliever who catches the scent of his breath can survive, and his breath reaches as far as his sight reaches. He will pursue the Dajjal until he catches up with him at the gate of Ludd, and there he will kill him."Then Isa, son of Maryam, will come to a people whom Allah has protected from the Dajjal. He will wipe their faces and tell them of their ranks in Paradise. While he is doing this, Allah will reveal to Isa, 'I have brought forth servants of Mine whom no one has the power to fight, so take My servants to safety at Tur.'"Allah will send out Yajuj and Majuj, and they will be as described, 'swarming down from every height' [Anbiya 21:96]. The first of them will pass by the lake of Tiberias and drink all the water in it, and the last of them will pass by and say, 'There was once water here.'"Then they will travel on until they reach the mountain of Khamr, the mountain of Bayt al-Maqdis, and they will say, 'We have killed everyone on the earth. Come, let us kill everyone in the sky.' They will shoot their arrows at the sky, and Allah will send their arrows back to them stained with blood."The Prophet of Allah, Isa, and his companions will be besieged, until a bull's head will be worth more to one of them than a hundred dinar is to one of you today. Then the Prophet of Allah, Isa, and his companions will pray earnestly, and Allah will send a plague upon their necks, and by morning they will lie dead as though a single soul had perished."Then the Prophet of Allah, Isa, and his companions will come down to the plain, and they will not find a hand's span of ground that is not filled with their rot and stench. So the Prophet of Allah, Isa, and his companions will turn to Allah in prayer, and Allah will send birds with necks like those of Bactrian camels, which will carry them off and cast them wherever Allah wills."Then Allah will send a rain that no house of clay or tent of hair can keep out, and it will wash the earth until it is left smooth as a mirror. Then it will be said to the earth, 'Bring forth your fruit and restore your blessing.' On that day a whole group of people will eat from a single pomegranate and shelter in the shade of its rind. Milk will be so blessed that one milk camel will be enough for a great crowd of people, one milk cow enough for a whole tribe, and one milk ewe enough for an entire clan."While they are living in this way, Allah will send a pleasant wind that will take them beneath their armpits and carry off the soul of every believer and every Muslim. Only the worst of people will remain, coupling like donkeys, and it is upon them that the Hour will come."This is what we have related, and he added, after the words "there was once water here," the passage about their journey to the mountain of Khamr. In Ibn Hajar's narration the wording is, "I have sent down servants of Mine whom no one has the strength to fight."
حدثنا علي بن حجر السعدي حدثنا عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد بن جابر والوليد بن مسلم قال ابن حجر دخل حديث أحدهما في حديث الآخر عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد بن جابر بهذا الإسناد نحو ما ذكرنا وزاد بعد قوله لقد كان بهذه مرة ماء ثم يسيرون حتى ينتهوا إلى جبل الخمر وهو جبل بيت المقدس فيقولون لقد قتلنا من في الأرض هلم فلنقتل من في السماء فيرمون بنشابهم إلى السماء فيرد الله عليهم نشابهم مخضوبة دما وفي رواية ابن حجر فإني قد أنزلت عبادا لي لا يدي لأحد بقتالهم
