With this chain of narration, the hadith of Ibn Abu Adi is similar to the hadith of Hammad until its end. The hadith of Waki ended at his statement, "if he is able to escape," and he did not mention what comes after that.
و حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وأبو كريب قالا حدثنا وكيع ح و حدثني محمد بن المثنى حدثنا ابن أبي عدي كلاهما
بهذا الإسناد حديث ابن أبي عدي نحو حديث حماد إلى آخره وانتهى حديث وكيع عند قوله إن استطاع النجاء ولم يذكر ما بعده
