The Prophet ﷺ set out for Uhud, and some of those who had gone with him turned back. The companions of the Prophet ﷺ then split into two groups concerning them. Some said, "Let us kill them," while others said, "No."So this verse was revealed, "What is the matter with you that you have become two groups concerning the hypocrites?" [Nisa 4:88]
