Abu Jafar al-Hashimi al-Madani used to fabricate sayings that were true in their content but were not actually statements of the Prophet ﷺ, and he would narrate them as though they came from the Prophet ﷺ.

أن أبا جعفر الهاشمي المدني، كان يضع أحاديث كلام حق وليست من أحاديث النبي ﷺ وكان يرويها عن النبي ﷺ.
