Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

This verse was revealed about us, "When two groups among you were about to lose heart, but Allah was their protector" [Aal Imran 3:122]. It refers to Banu Salama and Banu Haritha, and we would not wish that it had not been revealed, because of Allah's words , "but Allah was their protector".

عن جابر بن عبد الله قال

فينا نزلت {إذ همت طائفتان منكم أن تفشلا والله وليهما} بنو سلمة وبنو حارثة وما نحب أنها لم تنزل لقول الله عز وجل {والله وليهما}
