Ayesha reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never struck anything with his hand, neither a woman nor a servant, except when fighting in the cause of Allah. And never was any harm done to him for which he took revenge on the one who did it, unless something of what Allah has made sacred was violated, in which case he would take retribution for the sake of Allah . Some of them narrate more than others.
