We were in Madinah when word reached me that the plague had broken out in Kufa. Ata bin Yasar and others said to me, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If you are in a land where it breaks out, do not leave it, and if you hear that it is in a land, do not enter it.'"I asked, "On whose authority?"They replied, "Amir bin Saad narrates it."So I went to him, but they told me he was away. Then I met his brother Ibrahim bin Saad and questioned him, and he said, "I was present when Usama told Saad, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "This affliction is a punishment, or a torment, or the remnant of a torment with which people before you were punished. So if it is in a land and you are there, do not leave it, and if you hear that it is in a land, do not enter it."'"Habib said, "I asked Ibrahim, 'Did you yourself hear Usama telling this to Saad, and Saad did not deny it?'He answered, 'Yes.'"He did not mention the account of Ata bin Yasar at the beginning of the hadith.
