Amir bin Saad reported that Usama bin Zayd said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This affliction, or sickness, is a punishment with which some of the nations before you were tormented. Then it remained afterward in the earth, departing at one time and returning at another. So whoever hears of it in a land should not go there, and whoever is in a land where it breaks out should not leave it, fleeing from it."
