A son of Abu Talha was sick. Abu Talha went out, and during his absence the boy passed away. When Abu Talha returned, he asked, "What has my son done?"Umm Sulaym replied, "He is more at peace than he was."She then brought him his supper, and he ate. Afterward, he was intimate with her. When he had finished, she said, "Bury the boy."In the morning, Abu Talha went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him what had happened. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Did you consummate last night?"He answered, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Allah, bless them both."She later gave birth to a boy. Abu Talha said to me, "Carry him until you bring him to the Prophet ﷺ." So he was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and she sent some dates along with him.The Prophet ﷺ took him and asked, "Is there anything with him?"They said, "Yes, some dates."The Prophet ﷺ took the dates, chewed them, then took them from his mouth and placed them in the boy's mouth, rubbing his palate with them. He named him Abdullah.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا ابن عون عن ابن سيرين
كان ابن لأبي طلحة يشتكي فخرج أبو طلحة فقبض الصبي فلما رجع أبو طلحة قال ما فعل ابني قالت أم سليم هو أسكن مما كان فقربت إليه العشاء فتعشى ثم أصاب منها فلما فرغ قالت واروا الصبي فلما أصبح أبو طلحة أتى رسول الله ﷺ فأخبره فقال أعرستم الليلة قال نعم قال اللهم بارك لهما فولدت غلاما فقال لي أبو طلحة احمله حتى تأتي به النبي ﷺ فأتى به النبي ﷺ وبعثت معه بتمرات فأخذه النبي ﷺ فقال أمعه شيء قالوا نعم تمرات فأخذها النبي ﷺ فمضغها ثم أخذها من فيه فجعلها في في الصبي ثم حنكه وسماه عبد الله
