Abdullah bin Kaysan Taymi reported,

Asma sent me to Abdullah bin Umar with this message, "I have heard that you forbid three things, embroidered designs on garments, saddle cloths dyed with purple, and fasting the entire month of Rajab."Abdullah said to me, "As for what you mentioned about Rajab, what about someone who fasts perpetually? As for what you mentioned about embroidery on garments, I heard Umar bin Khattab say that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Only one who has no share in the Hereafter wears silk,' so I feared that the embroidery might be silk. As for the purple saddle cloth, here is Abdullah's own saddle cloth," and it turned out to be purple. So I returned to Asma and informed her of what he said. She said, "This is the cloak of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," and she brought out to me a Persian-style tayalisi cloak with a brocade collar and brocade trim along its two front openings. She said, "This cloak was with Ayesha until she passed away. When she died, I took possession of it. The Prophet ﷺ used to wear it, and now we wash it for the sick to seek healing through it."
