I visited Bara bin Azib and heard him say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to do seven things and forbade us seven things. He commanded us to visit the sick, to follow funeral processions, to say a prayer for one who sneezes, to help fulfill an oath or help the one who swears it, to support the wronged, to accept an invitation, and to spread the greeting of peace. He forbade us signet rings, or wearing gold rings, drinking from silver vessels, saddle cushions of silk, garments of coarse patterned silk, and wearing silk, brocade, and heavy embroidered silk."Except for his words "to help fulfill an oath or help the one who swears it," for he did not mention this phrase in the hadith and put in its place "and announcing the lost."
