I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Cover your vessels and tie shut your waterskins, for there is one night in the year in which a pestilence descends, and it does not pass by a vessel left uncovered or a waterskin left untied without some of that pestilence settling into it."
و حدثنا نصر بن علي الجهضمي حدثني أبي حدثنا ليث بن سعد بهذا الإسناد بمثله غير أنه قال فإن في السنة يوما ينزل فيه وباء وزاد في آخر الحديث قال الليث فالأعاجم عندنا يتقون ذلك في كانون الأول
