From the Prophet ﷺ with this same hadith, except that he said, "Turn the vessel upside down, or cover the vessel," and he did not mention placing a stick across the vessel.
و حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى قال قرأت على مالك عن أبي الزبير
عن النبي ﷺ بهذا الحديث غير أنه قال وأكفئوا الإناء أو خمروا الإناء ولم يذكر تعريض العود على الإناء
