The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Cover the vessel, tie the waterskin, shut the door, and put out the lamp, for Satan does not untie a waterskin, open a door, or uncover a vessel. If one of you cannot find anything except to lay a stick across his vessel and mention the name of Allah, let him do so, for the little fasiq (mouse) sets fire to the household's house upon them."Qutayba did not mention "shut the door" in his version of the hadith.
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ليث ح و حدثنا محمد بن رمح أخبرنا الليث عن أبي الزبير
عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه قال غطوا الإناء وأوكوا السقاء وأغلقوا الباب وأطفئوا السراج فإن الشيطان لا يحل سقاء ولا يفتح بابا ولا يكشف إناء فإن لم يجد أحدكم إلا أن يعرض على إنائه عودا ويذكر اسم الله فليفعل فإن الفويسقة تضرم على أهل البيت بيتهم ولم يذكر قتيبة في حديثه وأغلقوا الباب
