My maternal uncle Abu Burda offered his sacrifice before the prayer, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "That is merely a sheep slaughtered for meat."Abu Burda said, "Messenger of Allah, I have a young goat."He replied, "Sacrifice it, but it will not be valid for anyone other than you."Then he said, "Whoever sacrifices before the prayer has only slaughtered for himself, and whoever slaughters after the prayer has completed his sacrificial rite and followed the practice of the Muslims."
و حدثنا يحيى بن يحيى أخبرنا خالد بن عبد الله عن مطرف عن عامر
ضحى خالي أبو بردة قبل الصلاة فقال رسول الله ﷺ تلك شاة لحم فقال يا رسول الله إن عندي جذعة من المعز فقال ضح بها ولا تصلح لغيرك ثم قال من ضحى قبل الصلاة فإنما ذبح لنفسه ومن ذبح بعد الصلاة فقد تم نسكه وأصاب سنة المسلمين
