Ayesha reported,

When the believing women emigrated to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, they would be tested by the words of Allah , "Prophet, when believing women come to you to pledge allegiance to you, that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery" [Mumtahanah 60:12], to the end of the verse.Ayesha said, "Whichever of the believing women affirmed this had submitted to the test." When they affirmed it with their own words, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say to them, "Go, for I have accepted your pledge." By Allah, the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never once touched the hand of any woman. He only took their pledge through words.Ayesha said, "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never took anything from women beyond what Allah Most High commanded him, and the palm of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never touched the palm of any woman. When he had taken their pledge, he would say to them, 'I have accepted your pledge,' by speech alone."

حدثني أبو الطاهر أحمد بن عمرو بن سرح أخبرنا ابن وهب أخبرني يونس بن يزيد قال قال ابن شهاب أخبرني عروة بن الزبير أن

عائشة زوج النبي ﷺ قالت

كانت المؤمنات إذا هاجرن إلى رسول الله ﷺ يمتحن بقول الله عز وجل {يا أيها النبي إذا جاءك المؤمنات يبايعنك على أن لا يشركن بالله شيئا ولا يسرقن ولا يزنين} إلى آخر الآية قالت عائشة فمن أقر بهذا من المؤمنات فقد أقر بالمحنة وكان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أقررن بذلك من قولهن قال لهن رسول الله ﷺ انطلقن فقد بايعتكن ولا والله ما مست يد رسول الله ﷺ يد امرأة قط غير أنه يبايعهن بالكلام قالت عائشة والله ما أخذ رسول الله ﷺ على النساء قط إلا بما أمره الله تعالى وما مست كف رسول الله ﷺ كف امرأة قط وكان يقول لهن إذا أخذ عليهن قد بايعتكن كلاما
