I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "If we appoint any of you to a post and he hides from us so much as a needle or anything beyond that, it is misappropriation, and he will come bearing it on the Day of Resurrection."The narrator said, A dark-skinned man from the Ansar stood up, and I can still picture him, and said, "Messenger of Allah, take back your appointment from me."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What is the matter with you?"He replied, "I heard you say such and such."The Prophet ﷺ said, "And I say it now as well. If we appoint any of you to a post, let him bring everything, little or much. Whatever he is given from it, he may take, and whatever he is forbidden, he must refrain from."
