Bara reported that on the Day of the Confederates the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was carrying earth along with us, and the dust had covered the whiteness of his belly, and he was saying,"By Allah, had it not been for You, we would never have been guided, nor given in charity, nor prayed. So send down tranquility upon us. Those people have refused to yield to us."The narrator added that sometimes he would say instead, "The chiefs have refused to yield to us. When they seek to stir up strife, we refuse," and he would raise his voice with these words.Another version has him saying, "Those people have wronged us."
