Bara bin Azib reported,

On the day of the Battle of the Trench, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was carrying earth along with us, and the dust had covered the whiteness of his belly. He was reciting,"By Allah, had it not been for You, we would not have been guided, nor given charity, nor prayed. So send down tranquility upon us, and make our feet firm if we meet the enemy. Indeed, those people have rebelled against us."Sometimes he would say, "Indeed, the chiefs have rebelled against us. When they desire to test us with trial, we refuse."He would raise his voice when reciting these words.
