Ali bin Abu Talib wrote down the peace agreement between the Prophet ﷺ and the polytheists on the day of Hudaybiyah. He wrote, "This is what Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, has agreed upon."They objected, "Do not write 'Messenger of Allah.' If we knew you were the Messenger of Allah, we would not be fighting you."The Prophet ﷺ said to Ali, "Erase it."Ali replied, "I am not the one to erase it."So the Prophet ﷺ erased it with his own hand.Among the conditions they stipulated was that the Muslims could enter Makkah and stay there for three days, and that they would not enter it bearing weapons except for the julubban of weaponry.I asked Abu Ishaq, "What is the julubban of weaponry?"He answered, "The sheath and what it contains."
حدثني عبيد الله بن معاذ العنبري حدثنا أبي حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحق قال سمعت
ا كتب علي بن أبي طالب الصلح بين النبي ﷺ وبين المشركين يوم الحديبية فكتب هذا ما كاتب عليه محمد رسول الله فقالوا لا تكتب رسول الله فلو نعلم أنك رسول الله لم نقاتلك فقال النبي ﷺ لعلي امحه فقال ما أنا بالذي أمحاه فمحاه النبي ﷺ بيده قال وكان فيما اشترطوا أن يدخلوا مكة فيقيموا بها ثلاثا ولا يدخلها بسلاح إلا جلبان السلاح قلت لأبي إسحق وما جلبان السلاح قال القراب وما فيه
