The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a pledge from us, just as he took from the women, that we would not associate anything with Allah, that we would not steal, that we would not commit adultery, that we would not kill our children, and that we would not slander one another. Whoever among you fulfills this pledge, his reward is with Allah. Whoever commits any of these offenses and has the prescribed punishment carried out upon him, that serves as his expiation. And whoever is concealed by Allah, his affair rests with Allah. If He wills, He punishes him, and if He wills, He forgives him.
و حدثني إسمعيل بن سالم أخبرنا هشيم أخبرنا خالد عن أبي قلابة عن أبي الأشعث الصنعاني
أخذ علينا رسول الله ﷺ كما أخذ على النساء أن لا نشرك بالله شيئا ولا نسرق ولا نزني ولا نقتل أولادنا ولا يعضه بعضنا بعضا فمن وفى منكم فأجره على الله ومن أتى منكم حدا فأقيم عليه فهو كفارته ومن ستره الله عليه فأمره إلى الله إن شاء عذبه وإن شاء غفر له
