We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a gathering when he said, "Pledge to me that you will not associate anything with Allah, that you will not commit adultery, that you will not steal, and that you will not kill any soul whose killing Allah has forbidden except by right. Whoever among you fulfills this, his reward is with Allah. Whoever commits any of these offenses and is punished for it, that punishment is his expiation. And whoever commits any of them and Allah conceals it for him, his case rests with Allah. If He wills, He may pardon him, and if He wills, He may punish him."In the hadith it is also said that he then recited to us the verse concerning the women, "that they will not associate anything with Allah" [Mumtahanah 60:12], and the rest of the verse.
