The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a Jewish man and a Jewish woman who had committed adultery. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out until he came to the Jews and asked, "What do you find in the Torah concerning one who commits adultery?"They replied, "We blacken their faces, mount them on an animal facing opposite directions, and parade them around."He said, "Bring the Torah, if you are truthful."So they brought it and began reading. When they came to the verse of stoning, the young man who was reading placed his hand over the verse of stoning and read what came before it and what came after it.Abdullah bin Salam, who was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said to him, "Order him to lift his hand."He lifted it, and there beneath it was the verse of stoning. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then ordered that the two be stoned, and they were stoned.Abdullah bin Umar said, "I was among those who stoned them, and I saw him shielding her from the stones with his own body."
حدثني الحكم بن موسى أبو صالح حدثنا شعيب بن إسحق أخبرنا عبيد الله عن نافع أن
أن رسول الله ﷺ أتي بيهودي ويهودية قد زنيا فانطلق رسول الله ﷺ حتى جاء يهود فقال ما تجدون في التوراة على من زنى قالوا نسود وجوههما ونحملهما ونخالف بين وجوههما ويطاف بهما قال فأتوا بالتوراة إن كنتم صادقين فجاءوا بها فقرءوها حتى إذا مروا بآية الرجم وضع الفتى الذي يقرأ يده على آية الرجم وقرأ ما بين يديها وما وراءها فقال له عبد الله بن سلام وهو مع رسول الله ﷺ مره فليرفع يده فرفعها فإذا تحتها آية الرجم فأمر بهما رسول الله ﷺ فرجما قال عبد الله بن عمر كنت فيمن رجمهما فلقد رأيته يقيها من الحجارة بنفسه
