The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever frees his share in a slave, if he has enough wealth to cover the slave's full value, then a fair price is set for the slave and he must pay the rest. Otherwise, only the portion he freed is freed."
و حدثنا شيبان بن فروخ حدثنا جرير بن حازم عن نافع مولى عبد الله بن عمر
قال رسول الله ﷺ من أعتق نصيبا له في عبد فكان له من المال قدر ما يبلغ قيمته قوم عليه قيمة عدل وإلا فقد عتق منه ما عتق
