Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For the upright owned slave there are two rewards. By the One in whose hand is Abu Hurairah's soul, were it not for jihad in the path of Allah, the pilgrimage, and dutifulness to my mother, I would have loved to die as a slave."The narrator said, "It has reached us that Abu Hurairah did not perform the pilgrimage until his mother died, because of his devotion to her company."Abu al-Tahir in his version said, "For the upright slave," and did not mention the word "owned."
