Talha bin Musarrif reported,

I asked Abdullah bin Abu Awfa, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ leave a will?"He replied, "No."I asked, "Then why has making a will been prescribed upon the Muslims, or why were they commanded to make a will?"He answered, "He bequeathed adherence to the Book of Allah ."

سألت عبد الله بن أبي أوفى هل أوصى رسول الله ﷺ فقال لا قلت فلم كتب على المسلمين الوصية أو فلم أمروا بالوصية قال أوصى بكتاب الله عز وجل
