My father carried me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, bear witness that I have given Numan such and such from my wealth."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Have you given each of your sons the same as you have given Numan?"He replied, "No."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then have someone other than me bear witness to this." Then he asked, "Would it please you that they all treat you equally in kindness?"He answered, "Of course."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then do not do this."
