The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to visit me while I was ill and unconscious. He performed ablution, and they poured some of the water from his ablution over me, and I regained consciousness. I said, "Messenger of Allah, only distant relatives will inherit from me," and then the verse of inheritance was revealed.I said to Muhammad bin Munkadir, "Was it 'They request from you a ruling. Say, Allah gives you a ruling concerning one having neither descendants nor ascendants as heirs' [Nisa 4:176]?"He replied, "That is exactly how it was revealed."
حدثني محمد بن حاتم حدثنا بهز حدثنا شعبة أخبرني محمد بن المنكدر قال سمعت
ا دخل علي رسول الله ﷺ وأنا مريض لا أعقل فتوضأ فصبوا علي من وضوئه فعقلت فقلت يا رسول الله إنما يرثني كلالة فنزلت آية الميراث فقلت لمحمد بن المنكدر {يستفتونك قل الله يفتيكم في الكلالة} قال هكذا أنزلت
