Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

I went on a military expedition with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he caught up with me while I was riding a water-carrying camel of mine that had grown exhausted and could barely move forward. He asked me, "What is wrong with your camel?"I replied, "It is sick."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then moved behind it, scolded it, and prayed for it. From that moment on, the camel kept moving at the front of all the other camels. He asked me, "How do you find your camel now?"I said, "It is doing well. Your blessing has reached it."He said, "Will you sell it to me?"I felt embarrassed, since we had no other water-carrying camel besides it, but I said, "Yes." So I sold it to him on the condition that I could ride its back until I reached Madinah.I then said to him, "Messenger of Allah, I am newly married," and asked his permission to go ahead. He granted me permission, so I went ahead of the people toward Madinah until I arrived. My maternal uncle met me and asked about the camel, so I told him what I had done with it, and he blamed me for it.When I had asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission, he had said to me, "Have you married a virgin or a previously married woman?"I said, "I married a previously married woman."He said, "Why did you not marry a virgin, so that you could play with her and she could play with you?"I said to him, "Messenger of Allah, my father died," or "was martyred, and I have young sisters. I did not want to marry someone like them in age who would not discipline them or look after them, so I married a previously married woman to look after them and discipline them."When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Madinah, I went to him in the morning with the camel. He gave me its price and returned the camel to me as well.
